US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, September 15, 2016-- Africa Automotive Distribution Service Ltd., Gibraltar, has been awarded a $77,000,000 single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for J8 Jeep tactical vehicles. This contract satisfies recurring requirements for Jeep J8 tactical vehicles and related equipment, spares kits, special tools, ancillary equipment including recurring, and related training and services. This equipment will fulfill the requirements for tactical transportation of counter narcotics forces in support of selected partner nations teaming with the U.S. in counter narcotics activities.
The location of performance is the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility which includes Central America, South America and the Caribbean nations. The work is expected to be complete by Sept. 14, 2021. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition with one offer received. Fiscal 2016 operation and maintenance funds in the amount of $50,000 are being obligated at the time of award. Headquarters Air Combat Command, Acquisition Management and Integration Center, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, is the contracting activity (FA4890-16-D-0026).
Africa Automotive Distribution Services Awarded $77,000,000 contract for Jeep J8
VITORIA, BRAZIL, March 20, 2017—VSK announces a joint agreement with Africa Automotive Distribution Service to represent the Jeep J8 to the Brazilian Armed forces and Federal Law Enforcement agencies. This agreement is entered after a recent announcement that AADS was awarded a $77,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for J8 Jeep tactical vehicles.
“There is a high demand for the modified Jeeps within the Armed forces and other government agencies”, said Vinicius Bocaiuva, VSK’s CEO. “We are pleased to have reached an agreement with AADS to allow us to fill the needs of these agencies.”
VSK has been working on brining the modified Jeep J8 design to the Brazil market since 2013. Bocaiuva said “the award to AADS by Jeep is exactly what we needed to finally bring the distribution of these vehicles to fruition.”
